How it is done

Quiet recitation. Then direction.

A sitting is a conversation, then ruqyah, then a few things to keep at home. There is no theatre in it. The method does not change between sihr, jinn, the eye, or envy.

Steps

  1. 01

    Write plainly

    Name, city, what changed, and when. If you cannot name the cause, say that. A long account is not required.

  2. 02

    A reply

    You will hear back within one to two days. If someone is unsafe, contact local emergency services. This practice is not an emergency line.

  3. 03

    The conversation

    Questions only. When it started, who is affected, what a doctor has said, and what has already been tried. You will not be told that the unseen has been inspected. That knowledge belongs to Allah.

  4. 04

    The ruqyah

    Relevant passages are recited, among them al-Fatihah, Ayat al-Kursi, al-Falaq, and an-Nas, together with the ruqyah supplications reported from the Prophet, peace be upon him. The sitting is quiet. It may be for a person or for a house.

  5. 05

    What you are given

    Morning and evening remembrance. What to say on entering and leaving the home. Removal of amulets whose contents are unknown or unlawful. Lawful medicine continues. A person can, and should, also recite over themselves.

  6. 06

    Afterwards

    Relief may be soon, gradual, or not yet visible. A further sitting is arranged only if it is still needed. No result is promised. Cure is from Allah alone.

What to expect

  • The sitting is quiet. There is no performance and no claim to see what is hidden.
  • If you are able, be in a state of wudu. A quiet room is enough. Switch music off.
  • You may feel nothing unusual. That does not decide the outcome.
  • A woman is not left alone with a man who is not her mahram. Say who will be present.
  • In person or by voice is agreed when you write, according to what is possible and appropriate.

What this is not

  • No sihr, and no answer to sihr that is itself sihr
  • No astrology, numerology, or fortune-telling
  • No calling, questioning, or bargaining with jinn
  • No talismans, grids, or amulets of unknown or unlawful writing
  • No substitute for a physician, a psychiatrist, or the authorities
  • No promise of a result
